Chuck ran through some new polls on Monday’s show about some key Senate races. Here are those numbers in case you want to see more:
In Florida, a Miami Herald/Tampa Bay Times poll has Sen. Bill Nelson (D) leading Rep. Connie Mack IV (R) by eight points.
In Montana, the Mason-Dixon poll shows Rep. Denny Rehberg (R) leading Sen. Jon Tester (D) by three points.
And in Michigan, a poll by The Detroit News has Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D) leading former Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R) by 16 points.

I was confused by a comment Chuck said on today's show regarding the Senate race. He said that the GOP would need a net gain of 4 Senate seats to have a majority if Obama were to win re-election, but only a net gain of 3 seats if Romney were to win. Could someone please explain this to me?
In the event of a tied vote in the Senate the Vice President casts the tie-breaking vote. So if Romney wins and Paul Ryan is VP the the GOP can control the Senate with just 50 Senators and Ryan breaking tied votes in their favor. If Joe Biden remains VP then they need 51 Senators to gain control.
